Government

“Township officials represent the level of government closest and most responsive to the wishes of the people.” Michigan Township Association

Like all Michigan’s 1242 townships, Kochville Township is entrusted by the State with providing for the health, safety, and welfare of its residents. State law specifically requires townships to administer property assessment, conduct elections, and collect taxes. These duties are delegated to the supervisor, the clerk, and the treasurer, respectively.

The many people who serve Kochville Township –board members, committee and commission appointees, employees, and volunteers – help make our community a better place to live, work, and do business.

Note: While the elected Board of Trustees is the general governing body of the township, several other appointed boards, commissions, and committees assist them in providing for the well-being of Kochville Township residents.
